The Tails project has announced the release of its privacy-focused Linux distribution, Tails 6.19, known for providing secure and anonymous internet access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The changes are not as big as this new release, primarily updates several core components: Tor Browser moves to version 14.5.6, the Tor client is bumped to 0.4.8.17, and Thunderbird has been refreshed to 128.13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the software upgrades, the release also resolves an issue that could be confusing for some users. When configuring bridges in Tor Connection, Tails previously displayed an irrelevant error message\u2014something that\u2019s now been removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, just a quick reminder\u2014the lack of big changes is completely understandable. The Tails team is busy getting ready for the upcoming major 7.0 release, which is already at the RC2 stage and should be out soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those already running Tails from version 6.0 or later, the upgrade to 6.19 is straightforward and automatic, allowing you to keep your Persistent Storage without hassle. If automatic updates aren\u2019t an option, you can always perform a manual upgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re new to Tails or want to do a fresh installation without preserving your Persistent Storage, you can follow the installation instructions<\/a> for Windows, macOS, and Linux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
