Two weeks after Plasma 6.4.2 was released<\/a>, the KDE team rolled out version 6.4.3 as the third bugfix update to the 6.4 series<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the notable improvements in this release is an update to Discover, the Plasma app management tool, which now features enhanced responsiveness, highlighting items immediately when pressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, Plasma Addons received several valuable tweaks. One of them addresses window-switcher behavior by adopting the pop-up window type. Additionally, adjustments to Qt version checks now ensure better alignment with project standards, removing unnecessary searches for older Qt5 versions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KWin, KDE Plasma\u2019s window manager, has also received multiple stability improvements. Notably, this update prevents crashes related to tablet event handling and ensures correct window activation and raising with panel interactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wayland users will particularly appreciate the resolution of issues involving pop-up closures and improved resizing accuracy with fractional increments. On the XWayland side, a fix prevents misrouted mouse button inputs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessibility enhancements are another highlight, with fixes ensuring clearer distinction between modifier and regular keys and addressing keycode transmissions to assistive technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the performance optimization and memory side, a fix in the DRM backend resolves memory leaks associated with GPU management, while another eliminates erroneous reliance on DEGAMMA_LUT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, Plasma Desktop improvements address everyday annoyances such as unintended immediate password prompts on the lock screen and issues with the ‘Show Desktop’ applet functionality. Plus, usability in the widget explorer also benefits from clearer icon interactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
