For the browsers, I believe many uses those that are not in the official repository. There are plenty choices in the AUR, such as the Google-branded Chrome, Edge and Brave Browser.

What is really striking is how much momentum Gnome is losing, and even more obvious when looking at it comparatively with KDE.

Of course it is to be expected given the lacklustre quality of the DE and the toxicity and arrogance of Gnome devs, who have no clue about actual use cases, and designing their UI like ostriches, with their head in the sand.

But that the expectation results in a factual occurrence despite heavy Red Hat lobbying, it really means users no longer trusts thei despicable developers.

If we add to that the comeuppance of Cosmic, which is a more direct competitor to Gnome than to KDE, we can say with near certainty that Gnome is on its way to become one of those relatively irrelevant DEs trying to survive with few users. And that is for the greater good.

This is a very useful insight. Still would like to see WAY more ARM based systems but that is going to take some time for the hardware to start rolling out more to standard desktop users and with proper support from the software side of things for drivers and such. But still surprised how low the Brave browser is on marketshare for linux. Honestly it is kinda disgusting to me that so many people in the Linux Community (The people who are supposed to stand for open and honest software that does NOT spy on you) continue to not just use it but DEFEND using this browser. It is like trying to defend Google Chrome. That is just insane. But as said in the article it also shows what is installed by default on the Arch distros as well and so I know Chromium numbers are inflated just for that alone. So the real Brave Browser marketshare is probably more like 15-25 percent. That makes a lot more sense and hopefully will start dominating the browser marketshare more in future even more so on Linux.
