2000$ is nothing for a good laptop. Top of the line Dell laptop have been over 4000$ or even sometimes 5000$ for almost a decade now.

A intel N100 with 16gb of ram handles ubuntu without any issues even when running a server the cpu seems to not be doing much or very little and now they have the n150 and even the n305 and even newer now. You can but a huge flat screen tv and a mini pc for way less money then this without needing to have something in your lap or requiring you to sit at a desk. I doubt I will ever use a laptop ever again accept at work where I’m required which they provide for free.

Thanks but NO THANKS. Most of the laptops found in big box stores are nothing more than cheap, throw away toys. If you want a laptop to last buy a model designed for business.
