I’d say even better is to use a VM on Windows to run a Linux distro. And use a separate drive dedicated to preserving VM images. Dual booting even on separate disks is still a problem

But this is not a problem for me anymore, i have replaced dual boot with singel boot. Now i boot to Linux only. It works great without Windows, i am not looking back.

Let windows have its own drive and do its thing, and put Linux on another drive. Then use your BIOS boot screen to chose to boot from which drive when you want to switch.

I do agree with your I also dual booted for a short time when I left Windows during Windows 7 and when Win 8 came out I quit dual booting for good. What I noticed was the only time I went on Windows was to update it, update the
anti-virus and the anti-adware and spyware software. I finally figured out that was just wasting my time. And I am that elusive Linux users Windows claims doesn’t exist, I don’t use the terminal!
